Min says Russia can borrow in currency other than US dollar in 2020

MOSCOW, Dec 24 (PRIME) -- Russia sees an opportunity to borrow in a currency other than the U.S. dollar on the global markets in 2020, Finance Minister Anton Siluanov told reporters on Tuesday.

“In general, Russia sees an opportunity to borrow in a currency other than the U.S. dollar next year. We are ready to continue cooperation with Euroclear in the part of placing European debt in a currency other than the U.S. dollar,” Siluanov said.

He said that Russia might also opt against foreign market placement in 2020. “As you see, we are satisfying our borrowing demands in rubles so far,” Siluanov said.
